I was just wondering if any of you S3 owners would be willing to veiw some S3's for me in the following areas.

I live in Aberdeen and before I make the long journey to veiw these cars I need to know its going to be worth my while.

The first one is in Chester. It is at Dane Motor Company. Silver S3 with 53k.

The second is in Watford. It is at DK Engineering, they are a Ferrari specialist. It is a 99V red with 59k on the clock.

The third is in Nottingham. It is a private sale. The car is a 99V with only 26k on the clock.

I would greatly appreciate anyone who is local to the above 3 areas and would be willing to spare some time to view any of the cars to get in touch with me.

    Many thanks
    Shaun

I understand where you're coming from as I looked all over for mine. I had a good chat with the sellers on the phone and told them that if they were honest about the condition then they would have a sale. It worked most of the time but in one day I started in Fife, went to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Lincoln and bought none of them ! I ended up taking the chance and going to Belfast and got what I reckon was a cracking S3 that was genuinely mint, had a good spec, was a year newer than I had hoped for and cheaper than I expected so stick with it mate /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/froggie_red.gif

This is the 1 in Nottingham, I am just waiting to hear back from the seller as it may now be sold.

    CLICKY

I've also noticed that the good ones with low miles don't tend to hang around long, some cars are even sold before they are even in the garages

Don't be put off by average or above average milage, especially if you are buying from Englandshire.

Is a low milage weekend toy better than an everyday communting car?

A low milage weekend car may be thrashed or driven hard, whereas a daily commuting car which will have higher milage, may be used mainly on motorways at a constant speed.

Don't be fooled into buying a low milage car and believing it'll be mint!

for 12k - that '99 one would be at the bottom of my list. you can have that for below 10k if it had say 80k miles on it. For 12k I would get a higher mileage facelift one.

yep, I think I'd get a higher milleage car, I reckon all the short journeys my car did earlier in it's life are what buggered the engine bloody hard to say though.

The one at Dk was for sale a few months ago, I enquired about it, from what he said, it's his brothers car and has been looked after.
