any ideas or weak points / common complaints?

when you go over a noticable bump, opr eg speedhump - and i do take them slowly and carefully - you hear a creaky groan from the front. Not so much a clicking or metallic thumping, but somethings obviously moving somewhere.

Car is a 2003 with 32k on the clock.

Just through MOT & service (main dealer) with no corrective work advised.

Had a poke about underneath, around the balljoints, wishbones bushes, subframe bushes etc and can't honestly find anything that looks on the way out or is excessively worn?

they were a common golf problem, then they introduced a new type mount and clip - is there a similar improved design for the S3's, or is it just a case of replacing with a new bush?

Had a similar problem with mine, front made a creaking over speed bumps, had the front ARB replaced and it stopped!

no prizes for guessing what I'm doing this weekend!

cheers

I changed my ARB's 1st....no joy
Top Mounts & Ball joints next......still no joy
The problem on mine was the front wishbones ;)

which bush on the wishbone did u find worn?

I don't know m8 they replaced the bushes nuts & wishbone

All I know is it's very smooth now and no kloncking noise :icon_thumright:

there is a sleve on the S3 arb that can split. It makes the arb thicker for a std bush. This is one of the reasons I fitted R32 arb`s as they dont have the sleve as they are thicker.

i'll be replacing with standard bushes, will let u know how i get on
