S3 sportback not starting help pls

hi,

this is my first post on this forum and not a great way to start i guess but i was hoping for some help from the community, i have in the past week purchased an S3 sportback 2009 model, it was starting fine and now for the last 2 days i have not been able to start it, i was hoping that someone has either had a similar issue or a knowledgeable person maybe able to assist, some symptoms below.

i only have 1 key
car unlocks and locks fine with the keyfob
battery has been on charge for the last 2 days
there is plenty of fuel in the car
car starts for about 2 seconds and then cuts out
when turning the key the dashboard instruments do not self check any more as they normally do, and there are no other lights or messages displayed on the dash, it is completely blank.

I am a bit perplexed as to what has happened and any help given will be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Start by checking fuses..

Get it plugged into VCDS and scanned. Thats by far the easiest way to do it.

It coud be a number of things from the Battery in key (causing imobiliser problem) to a MAF problem.

checked all the fuses, everything is fine. Will get the diagnostics tool attached to it as advised, thank you

edited: changed the battery on the key fob as well, but no joy,
