Does anyone else's standard s3 spin in second? I'm almost certain it never used to or is it a sign I need new tyres or the 4wd system could be playing up?

On cold damp roads with summer tyres it sometimes spins all 4 wheels up. If its spinning all the time I would make sure you have no fault codes relating to haldex, as the pump can fail and make the car fwd only.

Thanks! I'll double check my tyres

With traction off in 1st gear nail it, if it spins up like a fwd you have a issue.

Nope, mine never spins. The traction control light flashes once then off you go.

I'm on Bridgestone protenza, they no good for winter?

They're no good full stop.

The RE050 is one of the worst tyres I've ever come across.

Bad enough in the dry,and hopeless in wet or icy conditions.

Possibly the reason I'm slipping in second? I've just booked it in the local Audi specialist dealer

Quite possible.

I hated the things....their only virtue was also a curse....they don't wear much.

Goodyear F1s,some of the Contis, and the Michelin PSS or PS4 are the current best.

Whilst they were on my Subaru, I also say they were the worst tyres I have ever been scared by! I'm no expert driver but sometimes they made me feel like I didn't know how to drive at all around some corners. Scary.
I am a big fan of the Goodyear Asymm's too and am thinking of Michelin PS4's as well. Not sure what they are like on the Audi's, but the Vreddy's were an awesome tyre on the Subaru too.

+1 on PSS or PS4. Really impressed with PS4 so far.
