I need a new key for my car. Is the dealer the only option? I have the case/metal key bit but the electrics inside have packed up. Remember getting one for my R32 and it was around £150? Have tried a new battery but no joy. The car was registered in June 2000 if that's relevant. Cheers, Mark.

I would try and buy a cheap key one off ebay and then use your current blade and the new electric part and then simply just get it re-coded by the dealer, should be cheaper than buying a new key and then having it re-coded.
Might be worth a try??
