Hi all,

My S3 is due a 5 Year service. It has done just over 28K miles and recommended to have the Cambelt changed. No doubt I will get the Waterpump changed simultaneously. The last service was a major with Sparkplugs changed also.

Any ideas on Price as I would like to get it done main dealer to maintain AFSH

I appreciate it isn't going to be cheap but have been quoted £299 (for two consecutive services (1) Minor and (2) Major) + £599 for the Cambelt and Waterpump change.

Is this a reasonable price for Audi, how much can I expect to pay and what's the best deal(s) you have achieved?

Thanks

Hi .

You can get them a lot cheaper than that

Audi offer the Audi difference so if you can get a quote from another garage that uses genuine Audi parts and cheaper Audi will match / beat it

I was quoted 500 by the Audi near me but not finished getting them down on price .

You also get the free mot for life with that work .

Hope that helps

Alex

Actually you can defiantly get it cheaper as the 500 I was told included the cam follower . I'd say 400/450 is achievable

Thanks Alex,

Didn't know about the MOT and definitely do not know about the cam follower. Pardon my ignorance but why the cam follower change? Besides the obvious wear and tear, is there an element of risk if it isn't changed?

Anything else that should be changed during the server after 5 Years of ownership?

I don't think ( could be wrong ) the cam follower will need doing on yours if your have not uprated the hpfp. With mine I have had the loba hpfp put in and it's recommend it's changed every 10000 miles or it can wear and brake up into your pump and its not a cheap fix . Especially when the cam fitted is 60 and the a replacement pump is 600 !

I think with the cambelt and water pump done and regular servicing that should be fine . It's great milage for 5 years ! :)

Sorry to jump in
But should you do the cam follower only if you have uprated the fuel pump?
I'm going to book mine into Audi for a service and Cambelt soon so would be good to know if I should have this done at the same time

My local vag specialist did a cambelt and water pump on my old BKD tdi for £315 with new coolant also. That was all genuine parts.

Id expect a tfsi to be a similar price as parts are about the same price, search out a vag specialist within 15 miles of a dealer who is close to you.
