Micra literally translates in Swahili to:

"The ugliest car on earth. So ugly not even it's mother loves it".

Two guys that run local VAG club, their younger brother is about 22/23 im sure and had a new M3 and then just traded it in for another one but with the competition pack which has the black BBS type wheels and satin paint. But then is a director of a company at that age too. Highly jealous when i found that out :( lol

OK - Downpipe and exhaust were finished today (Thanks Bill - Excellent work ).

Downpipe was heat wrapped and fitted. Due to a fairly hefty hangover, I forgot to take photos. Arse.

Anyway, the downpipe got fitted, and after an unbelievable battle with the lower stud.

The fuel pump is now wired in and working as expected (after some slight leaking issues due to a particularly un-flat face on one of the ends). Thanks to Tuffty on his guidance with that. I need to complete that job and refit the rear seat.

The 630 injectors are hoofing fuel in at a mad rate... After first start and idle, block 001 was showing up to -25% fueling correction.

However, all said an done. It lives. Still needs work however....

A few photos of the engine bay complete:

Hopefully Bill can post the photos he took of the exhaust completed....

    Evening all.

Got up to Bill's earlier to finish up a few bits and bobs, and found to my durprise that she was about to be strapped down to the dyno for a few runs to see what's what.

Started with a few runs to see what the fuelling was like - hmmmm :-/ - and then moved on to some power outputs. Actuator pressure at 12 PSI or thereabouts gave 280 BHP.

With a few tweaks here and there, we moved up through the boost levels to settle at 22.5 PSI for now, producing (from memory) 335 BHP. Torque is quite low currently, however the fuelling does need some work. seeing 11.5 AFR which is a little on the rich side.

There is more to be had here fortunately, however the K04 hybrid map is doing shockingly well running the PE1820, which was a surprise.

A few little teething problems have risen up - one of them being a cross threaded sump plug. Not happy as it wasn't me who did that up - however I do know who did, and they shall remain nameless... So, a new sump required. Arse.

She was letting a bit (a lot) of oil out on the dyno, which only came to be obvious when it needed a trip down the garage for fuel. Turns out the the sump plug was the minor of two leaks. The second was the high pressure oil line - the union wasn't tight (my fault, should have checked it). That's now resolved and there is no more drippy drippy from there.

I have just ordered a new sump now, and the sealant - however am suspecting that it won't arrive in the week sadly, despite me hoping that it does.

I have also changed the MBC/N75 parallel setup that it was running in favour of MBC only. Hoping that this will reduce the lag I am experiencing a little, as well as enabling more steady boost control.

Drove it home from Bill's earlier, and whilst the figure aren't currently that high, my Jesus does it ever go. Stay tuned for updates as time goes on....

To be honest mate, I genuinely have no idea. Not a clue. I'm quietly confident of achieving 335 (as it already has)....lol.

Ultimate power figures are a bit of a mystery at the moment.

I must say, however, that whilst the figures on paper aren't fantastic, it couldn't feel more different to drive. There is a substantial amount of lag by comparison to the hybrid - which is no big shock - however when it does come on boost, the pull is truly immense.

It feels more powerful than it did before with the hybrid, despite making similar BHP and less torque on paper. It genuinely leaves you feeling like you left your stomach about 100 yards behind you.

I grant you that I am comparing a non finished product, and as Bill said at the very start the hybrid will be hard to follow, it feels amazing to drive.

Based on the paper figures I was expecting to be underwhelmed when driving it on the road - however I wasn't.

Going to have a look at the sump tonight and see what can be done. A new one ordered today to replace, however I doubt I will see that until Next week due to the bank holidays...
