Morning all....
For those of you familiar with my threads, you will know that it simply could not be complete without some kind of disaster....
So, you will be glad to hear that it happened.
As usual, things come in 3s:
1) Failed the MOT. Brakes are ***** I must admit and the tester said he wasn't happy with the pedal travel. I agree, although a pain, it does need sorting. Master cylinder is the suspect... £100 ish.
2) The S3 has decided she wants to change careers and stop being a car, and become a train. Sadly, it's decided to take up smoking (probably spending too much time with me). Looks like one of the valve guides exhaust side has gone south and is allowing oil into the exhaust gas stream. ******. Now wishing I had them done when the head was apart - however hindsight etc etc etc.
3) A personal matter, but the third did occur. lol.
So, bit of a ****** on the whole, however not insurmountable problems - just vaguely irritating.
So what's the plan I hear you ask...
BURN IT!!!!
Not really, and there is a bright side as always.
Having the head off will make the master cylinder far easier to do. Bonus.
Going to have all the valves out and checked, then relapped.
Then head will be clean as a whistle, as currently she's a little gammy to be fair. Again, can only help oil circulation - bonus.
So, back to the head removal game... yay. I think.
More later.
