I recently got an S3 and am trying to get a better understanding of how it works. Would really appreciate some help as Im strugggling to find all the info I need.

As Far as i know,my 2008 S3 8P is fitted with Haldex Gen 2, I've read alot about how quickly it can engage when the car senses the front wheels slipping. In 6 degrees of a wheel turn.
Then, How long will it keep giving power to the rear under full throttle?
if I launch hard and run 1/4mile,after second gear ,where there is no wheel slippage, is it still putting any power to the rear?

Also in a very hard launch (for 1/4 mile) how much power does it throw to the back? :uhm:
is there a max % for distrabution? 50-50 ?

Thanks in advance.

With the 8l model the haldex keeps on putting power to the rear until the ecu sense's the car is no longer loseing traction.
Hope that helps.

I guess it can put a maximum of 50% to the rear wheels

As soon as wheels slippage is no longer sensed, rearward power is stopped.

My question is how quickly it acts as on the 8L i can notice it seems to have a delay before engaging

:/ not really looking for guesses... I want cold hard fact! :p
