    HI All,

Just thinking about changing the grill on my S3 to an all black one.
This throws up some questions that I hope you can help with.
Can you get them for the S3 (I've heard the A3 ones don't fit)?
If yes then who, where and how much ? I've seen some on ebay but they seem to be very cheap and probably for A3 not S3.
Lastly can you add the chrome audi rings or do them come in black as part of the grill ?

    TIA guys

    Kev

There's the Kamei one, but I think thats just for the A3. For the S3, www.s3-tuning.de did an 'RS3' one that does look very tempting but heard bad reports on the delivery. In both cases they were just the slats and had no rings or the option to put rings on. I think RichA3Turbo has the RS3 front bumber and grill....might be incorrect.

I heard that the old A4/S4 grille could fit a S3 but couldn't find the info to back it up.

    Good luck

Do you mean an RS4 bumper for an A3/S3?

I've got a Sportec grille surround and rings from AmD - not cheap at £150 plus vat but makes the car look a bit different.

You're right that the A3 and S3 grilles are a different size.

Thise are the type I want although I do prefer the chrome rings. Anyone know where the grill from the yellow S3 comes from or is it a modified one ?
The Sportec one is good but too expensive - I was thinking about £80ish max considering a standard one is one about £40 from Audi. Makes ya wonder how easy it is to get the chrome surround painted and if it would last !?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

    cheers

Can you get the S3 Style (small rectangular slats) for A3's?

    Preferably with Black Audi Rings...

i rekon you could get a decent black surround S3 grill easily from a standard S3 item, withou painting.. I'll have to take a look at mine tomorrow in daylight, but is the surround actually metal, or is it coated plastic?

if it's coated plastic, then you should be able to sand down through the coating, then use varying acrylic/plastic polish to cut and polish it to bare shiney black plastic...

whaddya reckon? anyone gota a spare S3 grill they're willing to have a go with?

  11. sounds like a plan mad vw- must say the black surround is a nice touch.
