Morning!

Newbie and all that - thanks for having me!

I am finally in the market for an S3 and have my eye on a couple of Imola Yellow ones, having been stunned by one owned by a friend several months ago. However, I would really like one in the colour of the car in this photo:

I thought that the S3 was available in a red called Absolute Red, but the Absolute Red one I've seen in the Used Dealer photos that I've seen on the Audi.co.uk site seem to be a more "orangey red" whereas the photo above, to me, looks more like the deep, vibrant Missano red of the RS4's et al. So I guess this could have been one of the £1500 special order paint jobbies?

Can anyone shed any light on the actual colour of the car in the photo for me please?

Cheers!

Its Misano.

Also looks like SitaS3's old car ,

Misano was available as special order paint.

Absolute is definately an orangy red as you put it.

never seen an S3 in that colour before.........quite nice and very different for an Audi.

my first S3 was rarer still. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/groovy.gif

The only one ever painted at factory in Ferrari Rosso Corsa

with Ferrari's permission and supplied paint.

Thanks for all your replies guys.

That was taken about a year ago at Donnington at a Trackday - great day until a nice Porsche GT crashed into the armco. Pricey pricey methinks!

Now I wonder where I can get an S3 in Missano Red...

There are a few around, it was special order colour, but alot of people spec'd it.

I was there that day at Donny with that group (RS246.com) , tho dont recall a crash.

I'll try to dig up a couple of photos of the GT - he came into the final right/left chicane and got the power on too fast. The back stepped out to the right so he was facing the pit wall and for some reason, he thought it would be a good idea to 'power out' of the slide - even though he was already at right angles to the track. The back end gripped and he just drove straight into the armco.

The guy was fine - he got straight out of the car and just stood there scratching his head with a bemused look on his face, wondering what happened.

IIRC a nice yellow Integralé came a cropper too - the N/S/F hub snapped at the end of the start/finish straight and he just plowed about 50 feet into the gravel trap with the wheel trapped under the car! Shame because it was a VERY nice one too - 4 pot AP's front and rear, slicks, stripped out, full racing interior and some beautiful looking suspension (Ohlins I think). Nice guys too - we spent about an hour chatting about how long they'd spent prepping the car and then it broke about 20 minutes later. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Anyway - is there a For Sale page on these forums. I've had a look around, but can't seem to find one. I'm looking at the Audi Dealer Approved site at the moment, but can't see much that inspires me...

Cheers!

Andy

trawling thru the photos of my old car, I came up with this from the very same day...

Have a look here

Found them!

See the Porsche behind Sita's S3 in the photo above? That's the one that came a cropper I'm afraid. I have included some photos below:

Oh - and here are the ones of the Integrale that lost a wheel. Mind you, judging by how immaculate it was, I'm sure it'll have been long since patched up and thrashed around.
