No offence mate but these things are rubbish... panel filter in OEM airbox flows more... If you want a cold air feed type setup the Carbonio CAI is a better option tbh..

Highly restrictive air filter systems these.

Paul, any links to the Carbonio? Was told yesterday that we can't get one for the S3 as the side mounted intercoolers are in the way?

I don't but you have a good point... all the Carbonio installs I have seen so far have been fitted to Ibizas and Leons tbh... You may be able to fit one if you have a FMIC but the pipe work does make things tight and the relocated horns could be a prob... I fitted my horns back in the OEM position with some mods so room can be found but still has to be said the BMC CDA isn't that good flow wise...

What are you currently running filter wise Paul? I know you have a standard airbox, so presume Green Cotton or other?

instead of the CDA im goin to selotape £200 to my existing air box as i think the notes will absorb some of the heat from the engine and therefore make my airbox more efficient......

or should i buy a CDA and reduce it's power....i hate decisions!!

    Green Cotton :)

I also have a piece of 4" ducting going into the airbox fed from just behind the headlight replacing the rather pitiful OEM airbox intake :)

I'm going to do the same to the Jetex I'm running, good shout Tim.

Sorry to the OP - we're not digging at you, it's just that those air filters really aren't great, especially not for the money they cost..

I got a Jetex from Badger5 for MUCH less than that, and I have found it to be really good.

    thanks for the advice atually,
ill be sticking with standard airbox for now then,
just wanted something new and shiney

when u say the jettex is good this just a cone or they do one with an inline cone and cold feed attached, so would imagine this is better....

    cheers

Jetex one wellys got is a plain cone.
add some duct for a cold air feed and you will nett some more airflow
