Hi

Just wandering if anyone knows the best place/price for this doing in west yorks without going to the stealers.

Im getting the cambelt / tensionner / water pump done

2002 225 S3

thanks

I don't know anywhere mate, but when you find somewhere let me know, I'm not too far from you and will need mine doing soon.

I got mine done at a local garage. It was still £340!! There is a VW Specialist in Bradford. If you need the number give me a shout - I'll dig his card out which has got stuck under my handbrake.

Hi mate

Yes please when you get a chance. im getting this done in the next 3-6 weeks so will be ringing for best prices.
i will post all the quotes i get for all to see

got mine done at awesome with new water pump for £295. For the sake a 40min drive its worth it. Chris Umpleby and IVC are local, but neither is held in high regard by local enthusiasts.

cheers mate, just asked them for a quote but £295 sounds good.

do they do the waterpump with the metal blades?

Yeah it was Chris Umpleby that I was thinking of -01274 547334. I've never used him though!

I'd stay away from the water pump with the metal blades and just go for the later replacement pump with the stronger plastic blades. There was a guy on here who mentioned seeing many 1.8T's strip teeth off the belt because the metal blades were catching the block or something?

I would have thought IVC too, but I didn't realise they weren't held in high regard.
