As i have said i have the same set up as Tuffty Sachs unsprung plate and standard cover but i was running 530 bhp and it did well so i will report back when i reach 600 bhp

Its well worth the money and cheap to replace unless like some of the other performance clutches out there

Are you aiming that at Andrew or me?

If you are talking about techniclutch and the stage 2 sachs kit I'm 3 weeks in and all is very well

I've had one of their own clutches before and never had a problem so doubt that a genuine Sachs kit will be any lesser tbh. We will soon see when the car is back on the road....

Any more info on whether the Sachs clutch is going strong? Mines started slipping and so looking at where to go. Any one know a good garage in Cambridgeshire who can fit a clutch at a friendly price?

Is replacing the flywheel required? As I got a quote from audi and they didn't quote for the replacement flywheel. Anyone now how long it takes to replace the clutch etc?

My Sachs clutch seems to be going ok.

Doing the flywheel is not always necessary and is usually done every 2 clutch changes. However, the flywheel condition will be found upon inspection once the box and clutch have been removed.

Clutch jobs tend to be around £200-£300 in labour and my advise is to change the flywheel whilst the box is off to save yourself another £300 + price of a flywheel if it goes after you have had your clutch done. For me, it's one of those common sense/no brainers for those whom do have some mechanical sympathy for their cars, especially the clutch.

    Hope that helps?

    Shaun.

I am running the same setup as Shaun. I got mine after reading this thread as had to put a new clutch in last September when my gearbox went tits up.

Personally I think for the money it cost its really good. feels very OEM in use and has no vibrations etc. I am running stage 2 revo and its coping quite happily and putting the power down well.

I got the complete setup for £400 inc P+P direct from techninclutch (who were very helpful I must add) if you give them a call and say you saw this thread on ASN cos you are a member they should offer you the same deal Shaun and I got.

    Hope that helps

Is this a standard clutch or is this a performance clutch ? I've brought a s3 and the clutch will need replacing as the car is about 350bhp and its got a standard clutch. Dont mind spending abit of money for a good performance clutch and flywheel.
2.0tfsi with 8l gearbox if that helps. Thanks

The one mentioned by Tuffty and Andrew is a paddle clutch. As used on 3/4/5oohp+ setups.
    Very affordable.

Awesome. Is it a kit or do I have to buy separate.

Its possible Bill @ badger 5 does them as a kit.
Otherwise the clutch plate and OEM pressure plate are bought seperately.
