Possibly uk spec as german roads tend to be generally smooth. There is a video of Mat Watson tested the new a4 with some Audi development engineers and one of them stated the UK version has a UK suspension setup. More than likely this could apply to the interior as well.

I must admit I am surprised I've not got ANY rattles given how many potholes are around where I live.

My BMWs were the worst for rattles, that's one of the reasons I switched to Audi.

Fair point, I know I saw a video on the release of the B9 A4 and it mentioned that the engineers had worked on the suspension for UK roads.

I suppose an extra bit of insulation and a few more fastenings would make sure no rattles develop with firmer suspension?!
