Rye House Karting - Monday Oct 5th, 7:15pm

    Right I've booked the track exclusively for Monday Oct 5th. Need 15 people please. 25 max which still leaves spare karts in case of breakdown.

    Its a great 900m track

    Race format will be 10 mins practice followed by a grid start in random order and a 25 min race. Then re grid in the reverse of the race 1 start order, then another 30 min race. Points from both races are added together and an overall points winner is crowned. Points ties are decided by fastest lap.

    7:15pm - Arrival, Sign in, Suits and Helmets allocated, Briefing
    8:00pm - Practice
    8:10pm - Race 1 Starts from standing grid based on a random order. 25 min race
    8:35pm - Race 1 Ends
    8:45pm - Race 2 Starts with the grid a reverse of the Race 1 random start order. 30 min race
    9:15pm - Race 2 Ends
    9:30pm - De-Brief, Tacky Trophies, Beer, Gloating etc etc

    £77.93 per person includes a paypal fee to me so I net the £75 per person it costs.

    If your coming from the east through the water works you will need 50p for the barrier as its a private road. Drive into the speedway car park and round the back to the left of the speedway to the kart track.

    i live right by there and was racing not long ago. it was only a 45min race and it seriously takes it out of you.

    Last time I saw that track, it was falling apart and grass was growing through. Is it still the case?

    not at all. they have spent loads on the car park, track, building over the past few years. New fleet of karts a few months back as well.

    Thats alright. It was a few years ago since I've seen the place. What kind of karts will be used?

    twin engine 160cc 4 stoke karts. good for 65mph they say. Not sure how fast they go in reality but ive used them a few times and they feel pretty good.

    Hmmmmm. I'm considering it. I keep meaning to go Karting with Luke but it's not worked out yet. It ok to let you know by tomo evening yea?

    Right then.

    If we can all be at the track for 7:15pm latest. Earlier the better though as they had the previous race cancel so are looking to put us on track slightly earlier if possible.

    Cheers for organising that Nathan. Had a wicked day.

    Got a massive bruise on my leg from the accident. Also got tyre marks all on the side of my helmet which must mean my head hit the barriers too. Cant remember that bit :wacko: lol

    It wouldn't be a proper racing even without controversy as well would it lol

    Was it you I saw go straight on at the end of the back straight heading into the long right hander?

    It was a biggy! Glad you're ok.

    Then again it could have been any one of the zillion offs that occurred last night :yes:
