Hi I am sure this has been asked a 1000 times but which ones will fit without any full lock rubbing? will I need any spacers? and what offset will in need? Am I right in thinking that these were a optional extra from the factory?

Any of these any good (part ex your rubbish wheels for new refurb ones....)

What car will they be going on? Standard brake calipers?

You need to get the 5x100 ET35 wheels and they should fit on just fine. SuperKarl has some that are ET45 and he needed spacers so try to get ET35 if you dont want to shell out more money.

I was keeping my eye on that PX wheels but they will only replace like for like wheels wont they? Good if you have a set you want to get refurbed.

On an a3 or s3 mate? the offsets are a bit different.
    Standard s3 Avus Wheels are 17x7.5 et32 and 5x100.
Generally 10mm spacers up front and 15mm spacers at the back are used by s3 owners but I understand theres space for 5mm extra on each.
Do you have a link to the wheels you want?

Sorry if I've misinterpreted this thread in advance, but are you guys saying that if you fit 18" alloys on a standard A3 without adding spacers the front wheels will rub at full lock?

    Thanks.

No we're only talking about RS4 wheels here. There are RS4 wheels which are ET45 which need spacers, RSTT wheels which are ET35 which need spacers or you can get reps of these wheels which are standard ET32 which wont need spacers.

The problem isn't with rubbing the arches but with the inside of the wheel catching the brake caliper.

I was thinking these... Is there a certain tyre you have to have fitted?

also this might be a bit of a numpty question but does changing the wheel size affect the speedo reading?

Normally you'd get a tyre that makes the rolling radius of the wheel the same as when you have the 17" wheels on. The 18" S4 wheels I just bought have 235/40 tyres on them but the diameter of the wheel and tyre is the same as my standard 17" wheels and tyres.

Do you know what ET (offset) the wheels you're looking at are?

So if my normal wheels are 17", 5 stud Avus et32 with 225/45/r17's what would be the equivilent (no rubbing on full lock, speedo still reading correctly, calipers clear, filling the wheel arches) 18" straight swap?

    18" et32 with ***/**/*18's ? with 5 x 100?

    Thanks...

tire wise you need to be looking at 225/40R18 to keep speedo accurate, or within the tolerance
    use this..
Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing
i foound my speedo is now more accurate with my new size.
places reccommend no more than +/-2.5% some people say it can be more. but little difference the better
