RS3 Grill interest/ questions

I have just ordered an rs3 and should be getting it in around 14 days time. It has the standard aluminium look front grill and ideally i want the gloss black one.

I have no idea how much these things are but my thought is to purchase a black one and then have the alu one to sell

What sort of prices am i looking for a gloss black one if anyone knows and if there are any places suggested to purchase from?

How much is the typical asking price if i were to sell the alu one. Obviously it will be brand new but il remove it from the car when i collect it or even ask audi to swap them before i pick it up

There is a black styling package for the rs3 which gives black front full mesh grill and few other bits.

I dont fancy the S3/A3 grill i want the full mesh

Ah fair enough. Probably going to be quite hard to find one without paying a fortune for one from the dealer. Try eBay Germany.
 
There are a couple for sale on eBay at the mo. If you ring tps they supply the grille for £550 or there about
 
any idea whether people want the silver RS3 grills? id like to have some hope of claiming some money back if im gonna fork out 500 odd quid how much is a good price to offer one?

if you've just bought an rs3 then the grille even from the dealers will be peanuts

its mine :wub:. I put the gloss black surround on from my black edition grille. think the matt aluminium with black surround looks
good

mate that looks very nice indeed!

the reason i want gloss black so much is the fact the air intakes on the bumper are gloss black and so is the rear diffuser and with the tints i just think itl suit much better

on a white car your grille is perfect

props to you for that sir!
 
audi quoted me 628 quid for a grille with there discount today..

if anyone can suggest anywhere cheaper id be very greatful.. for some honeycomb plastic thats outrageous
 
this is my RS3 grill on the black audi, i stuck with the gunmetal grill as i liked the contrast between the grill and the car
i paid about £350 for it off eBay Germany from a seller who like you swapped it out for a black one.

car looks great mate!

i dont mind spending some money as i will sell mine and get some back but if i sell for 400 then still paying another 228 for a black grill is daft if i can get one for around 500 id be happy

problem is that there aren't many for sale, have you asked the dealers to change over the grill for you? i have heard of guys doing this in the past and getting a decent price as they just bought the car from the dealer. I believe brodster did that on his S3
 
im going to ring up now and see what they can sort out i doubt theyl do it though, ive already done a deal on the car and they wont make anything off it will they i cant see them helping now
 
they applied a discount already mate i know a girl who works there and she got it down from £668.41 to £624.98
 
I'm thinking about changing my grill to a black one but keep the brushed surround like I did on my S3.
 
that sounds nice! its the gloss black intakes and diffuser that makes me not understand why a massive silver grill.. fair enough if you have aluminium pack but otherwise its like a sore thumb!
 
I have the Alu pack but I'm with you the silver grill looks wrong with the black lower grills.

Will do but chances are you'll do yours before me as I'm working abroad until April.
 
il probably end up paying what the dealer asked anyway im impatient. if someone agrees 450ish for the silver one il go and buy the black one... sod it
 
Ring trade part specialist. I got quoted 550 or there abouts
 
i did mate with the vat its £667 or whatever, i had a long chat with the lad on the phone about how ridiculous the price is for a grill
 
i got mine for 350 euro inc. delivery off eBay.de had no problems I just put in a sensible buy it now offer and we then agreed on the 350 euro price.
 
I've had a look on German eBay and UK eBay I've rang everywhere under the sun and there is only oem available for 600+ pounds and a couple of replicas on eBay UK from Hong Kong etc that with postage are coming out at 480 so in gonna just get myself a black one from audi and il post mine up for sale on eBay and on here for 480 postage negotiable but rather pickup.

S3 th. il pm you when it's available you have first refusal as you already mentioned your interest providing your happy with the price.
 
what colour is the new car?
have you not thought about having a black surround put on, like i did. if this is not enough black, have the matt aluminium professionally painted.
 
The cars Daytona grey mate. I have a friend who owns a bodyshop and his thoughts are not to paint it as it would chip eaeasily

im not sure I can imagine how it would look with just the surround done? Poor imagination haha
 
i personally think it would look good on a grey car. the black would fit with the air intakes and the matt aluminium (its more like titanium) would give it some contrast. what wheels are on the car?
 
i'd go for this combo, think it would look brill on your car lad.
