to save me having to buy a new car I'm tempted to fit a roof rack to my qts for when needed.

A mate has a roof rack for a b6, what are the chances of this fitting?

My oem headunit has developed a fault where it sees no power. The fuse is fine and power is going to the fuse box and sometimes it comes back to life after the fuse has been removed for a while.

Does this sound like a poor connection in the box/wiring or something going wrong with the head unit itself. I've seen others have had to replace the whole unit to remedy before.

I have no idea on the roof rack, but if your console is factory OEM then i would just swap it out, have you tested that there is power to the radio? Mutlimetered the iso plug?

Thule list the same feet for the B5 and B6 saloon roof racks so it should fit although different brands may vary

Cheers guys. I don't have the correct keys to remove the head unit yet so haven't tried it yet, I'm tempted to sort the niggles and swap cars for something more modern if I'm honest not so probably won't bother sorting the roof rack now.
