So this is beginning to bug the crap out of me. Over the last 4 months my rocker cover has developed an oil leak at the rear left hand side (as you look at it from the front, inline engine). It drips directly onto what I think is either the particulate filter, or the catalytic converter. Either way it gets ****** hot and I'm getting a lot of smoke. I've replaced the gasket 3 times now using either a pattern part or new Audi part. Non have cured the leak and i'm running out of patience to keep spending £15 a time for a piece of rubber that is doing sweet FA. - especially when smoke is coming out of my bonnet every time I stop the car.
As a side note, what are the breather systems like on these engines? I can only see the outlet on the top of the rocker cover, but no inlets into it.
