    WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS ANY KIND GENTLEMEN OR (WOMAN) AROUND WHO WOULD LIKE TO SELL OR LOAN ME A 2007 RNS-E DVD, SO I CAN UP-GRADE MY FIRMWARE

    Paul,
    I'm not sure you can just load a 2007 DVD and get the firmware upgrade, because when you revert to your old disk it loads the "old" firmware from that disk.

    Certainly that was the case for the CD based units I had in the past.
    I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. !

    Anybody had any luck in getting a Free DVD from Audi?

    Nah, if you use the older DVD's it will not revert in software edition. To downgrade, this has to be done with VagCom.

    Finaly got to the bottom of the thread on tyresmoke, I think ill try my luck this week. Let you know how i get on; when i start something im like a dog with a bone with a bit luck they'l give me one to get out of the dealership.cheers

    They are making you book your car in with the workshop not just handing the disc over at the parts dept....which makes it a problem if you have retrofitted or have a "backup" disc as they want the old disc back too!
