I finally fitted a double din console with a double din Clarion with bluetooth but I'm not happy with it.

I got the option of a RNS-D unit for it, only possible issue is its from a A3 8L.
I know everyone wants the RNS-e but that's about £400 more than I'm willing to pay at the moment.

I've been searching and I can't find any info to say if it will fit or not.
Does any one know if it will fit?

Apart from its age and going with the thinking it will fit, what are the RNS-ds like?
Do they play MP3?
Bluetooth options?
I know they do satnav, I'm not that interested in the TV or radio, aux input?
SD card reader?
any thing else?

I'm searching for the above so I'll post up if I find any thing.

I very much doubt it'll do MP3's or SD cards, it doesnt do bluetooth but maybe you can get an addon for that.

The nav itself will be very out of date, i believe its from early noughties.

SD, MP3 and such is a no no, unless you get the add on modules.

The maps depends on the CD you put in it.

That's my understanding from what I've read so far.

Need to find the modules and check prices.

An A3 unit wont physically fit as the fascia is entirely different. I sold my rnsd for b5 for £100 so there is bargains out there. Also on the same note, i only paid £250 for my rnse with b5 fascia already moulded. Im sure there will be some recent knock off discs floating around too :)
