Does anyone know if Revo do an upgrade for the TDi. The guy i spoke to at Fontain thought not, but the guys here seem to know more!

Its a lot cheaper than AMD for previous engines, so seems like a good alternative. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

    Which engine? 1.9 or 2.0?

so is AMD the best bet for the upgrade?

I live in west London and want somewhere relatively close. But I feel AMD's car specific rolling road tuning is overkill for my standard TDi engine, and more than overkill on my wallet.

Or dare I say it Superchips.... VW Racing use them. Wouldn't be my choice though... AmD, APR, Oettinger or MTM seeing as Revo aren't there yet.

but revo seem to be the same price as the dreaded superchips richy, and I'd sure hope to get a better performing engine from Revo.

Peoples perceptions and what they've heard second or third hand. Probably nothing more... The only thing wrong is they are a jack of all trades not a VAG specialist although they did run an S3 at their headquarters...

is there anyone around who's had a superchips upgrade to their 2.0 TDI?

if its just a misconception that they're ****, then i feel my hard earned could be better spent with them than AmD

Broadmarsh - do you recommend the superchips programming? and what are their service and audi knowledge like?

    TDI-line - are you a 2.0TDI driver ?

    put it this way..

if you were to buy a golf club ?? (for example)

would you goto sports soccer who sell footballs, bats, trainers, clothes and golf equipment or would you goto american golf and get professional advise and help and also have the right equipment recommend to your game?

same theory applys.. if you want the job done correct then goto Revo,AMD,APR,MTM etc..

although more expensive in some cases you will get the advise you need.

also something which may mean something to you..

if you want advise on which chip to go for would you come to audi-sport.net or would you goto tyresmoke.net?

no slagging anywebsites off.. but again tyresmoke deals with all different cars where as audi-sport deals with audi's day in day out..

LOL...just gotta love the Amd/Superchips debate.

If your after a rechip why not visit the uk-MKIIV's website (www.uk-mkivs.net) have a look in the gourp buy sections as theres a group buy running for the oettinger remap for this engine (supplied by RSD). The price of the group buy brings it down to the same money as the super chips one but does include the bullet proof warrenty you wont get with other suppliers.

you're right richy. thats why i came to audi-sport.net! i would definitely rather avoid superchips, and this groupbuy that marriedblonde mentioned looks damn good.

I wouldn't have said i was lucky, this wait is doing my tree in!

Could be waiting till next year, or save up more and go for the 2.00 TFSI Q, but then got shed out for petrol, yuk.

the wait must be painful, i wish i'd waited around now and got the 2.0T. i was well impressed by an A4 with 1.8T a couple of years ago, and cant even imagine what the 2.0T will be like in the A3 chassis. and the tuning potential (and higher revs) are quite tempting.

And does the remap really give the 2.0 TDI a new lease of life? It's a pretty quick car anyway...
