Return with my Silver TQS

I see alot of these "eliminator" kits stating high figures but, it's still bolted to stock manifold and must restrict it quite a lot, maybe not even enough for 300

I showed you what mine did. 279hp. And that was with a ported stock manifold and a ported turbine housing. The turbos holding 1.55 bar to the redline, but the EMP gets so high that by 6k the powers dropped off like a rock. I suspect its actually lifting the exhaust valves off their seats. That same turbo on an A3 will do 330hp. The stock turbo parts on these cars just dont flow.

If i was starting from a blank slate with one of these cars, i'd be selecting the smallest garret that would get me 350hp. Probably a GTX2860R and a nice manifold like the PSI Concepts one.

Oranoco: Your K04-020 hybrid was a nice fit for the factory hotside. I really hope you've not ruined it by making it larger.

Apparently you can run a BEX manifold and it supposedly flows better than B5 oem ones, and going full frame you still get the issue of the downpipe, custom TIP I don't think would be too difficult

Aragorn, you ever thought of a3 quattro sport?

The BEX manifold is supposedly better, but i've never actually seen anything to back that up.

The downpipe really shouldnt be a problem unless you live somewhere proper backwater.

Not changing it by choice mate :-( Once off the car it became very apparent that the unit is scrap. Will be cleaned up and put on my desk at work as a nice centre piece though.

The ko4 is on flea bay now for 3 dudes, anyone here can have it for 280

Yeah, I brought it cheap from someone who wasn't fully aware of the value

" Only way is to remove the chip, and solder in a new one, which few people can do, especially these days "

and that's what was done to our TQS back in early 2000. Ours was done by the late Geoff Everret at Automotive Developments at Oddington. He disappeared into his house ( next door) for about 15 mins and brought it back with new chip in a new carrier! ( think that's what he said.)

Yours is coming along alright man

As always, what sort of figures you aiming for now oranoco?
And what your car a big improvement from standard 180?

Would like to see 300bhp with similar torque but more interested in having something that drives nicely than chasing numbers (although numbers are nice).

Considering it started life as 150bhp I can't moan. It felt down on power since the track day mishap so was pleased to see 245bhp on the pre tear down dyno run with loads of leaks and a knackered turbo

You don't have a Quattro sport

Had the car up for tracking yesterday cause we had literally jobs customers and found a few niggles

The coolant leak, and oil build up around the intercooler I can live with cause I'll be installing the FMIC piping soon, but the diff leaks im a bit worried about

Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

pretty standard leaks on the rear diff, very common.

Your PAS cooler lines are leaking, that needs fixed, proably just needs tightened or a new jubilee clip.

Is It rear diff seals common problems on these TQS? Been reading a few and apparently they aren't hard at all

Are these the right rear diff seals? Euros couldn't tell me if they were even though I gave them the correct part number

I'm being told my rear diff takes 80-90 oil as apposed to 75-90
Can anyone advise before I tackle the rear diff seals

you could get some RS4 style mesh to fill those grilles. I would paint the cooler and pipes black personally, but i like the stealth look!

I'll probably end up painting it black but I needed a full day to fully get the piping solid and make sure I had a bead not every section the only down fall I can think of it I had to get a 90d bend going into the DV
