Just wondered whether you can retro-fit a trip computer between the dials obviously using a new instrument cluster, basically what im sayin is will the wires be there to plug straight in??

im not sure about a straight plug in i think so, you need to find a cluster that matches your car with lower miles though and you would require vagcom / vdcs coding for definate

AFAIK it will be a direct swap.
You will have to either fit/code out washer level sensor as you may not have that wired . It can be retro'd though if you really want it.
You will also need a new dis stalk to control the dis.
Immobiliser will need to be coded . Mileage will have to be corrected. Audi can only do mileage correction on new clusters, so if you buy a 2nd hand one, you will have to find another source to get it corrected.
