Replica or aftermarket alloys?

    Hi all,
Newbie here, be gentle with me.

I'm picking up my A3 on Saturday, but want to put some decent alloys on it as the ones supplied with it are bloody awful 'Hi-John' things.

I've decided on 18's and quite like the replica Nuvolari alloys. I've also heard a few things on here about dubious quality alloys, soft metal, cracks etc. Being more into bikes than I am cars, I know absolutely nothing about alloy wheels so I doubt if I could tell a bad replica from a good one. So if I bought a set, would they be durable or totally shagged after a year. Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom on the replicas, or would I be better off buying a set of mid-priced aftermarket alloys (think BK Racing, TSW, Team Dynamics).

    Cheers,
    Andy
