replacing throttle body

hi ive been looking for some guide on replacing the throttle body on my a3 8l 1.8 non turbo, with cable not dbw
havent been successful looking through the forums so far or on google
anybody have any links please

while i was looking how to remove the throttle body i found a part loose
which looks like its been glued at some point

i think number 20 in this diagram

i extracted out a small piece of platic - so looks like some ingenuity before i replace the throttle body ( i can return it so saves money)
i cant believe if this is it which has caused me problems

i cant think how to fix this properly at the moment so im going to ue a bic pen trim down one end and glue back onto the inlet manifold and see how it works

your all probably sniggering at me at the moment!

Have u not restricted the flow of what ever goes threw that hose. A pen is not wide to allow much down it.

although only a temporary fix managed to find a 2nd hand inlet manifold one on fleabay where the vacuum pipe is intact - so fingers crossed.
