Guys, my drivers side headlight bulb died on saturday and I need to get a new one ASAP. I've done a bit of hunting around and it looks like the best price is about £50 for a pair. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what bulbs I should get? Should I go brighter?

    The bulb is a Philips D2S DOT 03V 4300

    TIA

personally id stick to 4300k's mate as anything beyond that look none standard and it will look like an imitation S3...that said HID's are supposed to be brighter and will be cheaper if you get an ebay kit...downer is you have to place two ballasts in the engine bay.

dunno bout prices though.... let me know when you've replaced as im curious as to the difference between those and the tired ones that will have been in both our cars for years

Search for 'D2S ----k' (whichever temp you require) on Ebay. That's where i got my 8000k's from for £20 delivered.

Bad news! Just got home and swapped the passenger bulb over with the drivers bulb and the bulb isn't the problem. Something else is screwed, what could it be?

I'm guessing that all the headlights run off one fuse and not one each?

Just been through the owners manual and it turns out that the main lights are on their own fuses (20 & 21). Fuse 20 was melted pretty bad so I think a new fuse will sort it.

I've now got 2 new xenon bulbs on the way :banghead:

look at it this way, they apparently get tired and so you can report back if you get any improvement over what you have :)

How did you get them out? My passenger side xenon is dimmer so need to swap them to see if its the bulb or something else.

You need to take off the cover on the back of the headlight then twist off the big connector that is on the back of the bulb. The hardest part is then squeezing your hands in to twist the plastic ring that sits around the bulb clockwise (as you face the car). The bulb will then just pull out.
