REMAPS: Everything you need to know about remaps....

Out of interest Bill, are you any further along in regards to custom mapping AGU management?

From what I've heard the other "AGU software specialist" has stopped doing engine converted cars now (i.e. my 20v Mk2 Golf) and I was rather hoping (read: praying) you could now do it.

As I am sure Bill will agree, there are some truely poor 20v conversions done which is why this is happening, some are good of course!

not an ecu I want to spend time on tbh
standalone on converted cars like yours.

pm me for someone I could send you to who is good

I figured the howling was just my engines war cry.

RARRRRRRRR.

So imagine in 8 months or so I think I am confident in the car enough to get a remap, as the car already had a stage 1 but it will be older had a few changes etc. Should absolutely everything be ready 1st - or should the owner provide a list of what they've done and the mapper charge a couple of hours evaluation first and a dyno run? And produce a list of suggestions based on their experience, I know these processes are no cheap, so you don't want to be too-ing and fro-ing because you forget to alter the spark plug gap from new default, or you didnt replace all 4 coils together.
My worry for me is I am changing some common simple bits for better but I don't want to make a remap necessary just because I replaced some hoses to no longer leak, maybe because it was originally mapped with a fault.

car should be in good working order, no known faults, no fault codes when presenting to anyone for mapping.
If in doubt, book in for a health check... which as a minimum like we would do is smoke leak test, fault code check, dyno, and logging, and optional compression test and cylinder leakdown tests...

all IMHO
