here is the v4 manifold which i have been lucky enough to get my hands on and be one of the first.Looks very good and a nice bit of kit and i'm looking forward to getting it on the car and seeing what it can do and how it performs and fits etc.
I will be doing a build so I will put pictures up of my work in progress and will show you and tell you what it's like to fit etc.
i shall keep you all updated as and when.
Here is also a link to the relentless manifold page for you all to check out:

Was thinking of buying one of these, how did you get on with the fitting / performance and reliability?

Forge tip is tapered isn't it? Get a badger5 one.

I'd look into fmic and downpipe before a manifold

To be honest lads, bought the car about a month ago and there's a crack in the oem mani. At the moment no plans to go further with tuning but keeping an open mind!

It's a head off job, if you do it you might as well do rods at the same time

Are you sure its the manifold? K04 manis are rubbish granted but rare for them to crack enough to blow (not unheard of just rare)

Typically a blowing noise is either the manifold/turbo gasket where the bolts have relaxed a bit and come loose, this then compromises the gasket and it blows... the threaded inserts can also back out a bit on K04's so those need to e checked before refitting a new gasket if this is the issue...

The other cause of a blowing noise is the EGT probe backing out... this is located in the back of the turbo's hotside..

Mechanic has had a look at it already and replaced the waste gasket - a new one was supplied with the car he,had the turbo out because one of the bolts sheered when he was disconnecting from mani. When he did that there was none there to start with so he thought that that was the problem. Put it all back together and noise is still there. Definitly exhaust gases escaping somewhere (can smell them) and he said he'd take the mani off and inspect it when he has a chance. He also looked at the manifold bolts when he was at it and they all appeared to be fine.

Did he use new bolts? as in all three? did he check that the inserts were flush before refitting? has he checked the EGT probe as you haven't mentioned that yet?

Underneath is gonna need subframe drop, turbo removal etc etc, it is a big job to remove the manifold

He defo replaced all three bolts, not sure if he checked EGT! Might mention it to him when he gets it again. Would this be obvious from a visual inspection or would you have to start stripping it back to see it!
