    Update for the weekend

Work started about 7pm Friday. Within 40 mins the head was off and out the way. Got the turbo and mani bolted on to the large port and had a mock fit. Ben's opinion was their wasn't really enough space (similar area to Wellys track car and Ben's old S3) needed a little bit of tweaking and the air con pipes would have to go. Bugger. As I hadn't had it gassed since the k04 work in August and I wanted the turbo on the car, it had to be done. Put the new gasket on and the head was fitted properly. All bar 2 turbi lines were fitted as well. Inlet mani was fitted back on to the car and the cambelt was back on the car and work stopped about 11.30ish.

    Work started Sat about 1pm.
    Jobs done yesterday were:
1 of the 2 remaining turbo lines were fitted. The fitting for the other one isn't the correct fit for the hose.
Ben decided to become an exhaust fabricator and got the downpipe well underway, mocked up and tack welded in place, ready for a mate to add some fancy looking welds to it.
Tip was bought and pretty much done. DV is welded straight onto an alloy 90, n75 boss to be added by the same fella that is doing the exhaust, then it's done.
The down pipe has been sorted so it can be taken out with the turbo in place and the head on which is a bit of a brucie bonus for Ben and any future works that might take place.
Beyond the down pipe, I have just bought some additional 3" stainless to make the exhaust 3" all the way to the back box. Partly because the car is very quiet and partly because one section of a straight in the exhaust has a massive dent in it..

I say all this very casually, but hardly any of it was done by me.

The work was done by Ben @ Parsons Performance, so thanks again mate. If he reads this, I'm sure he'll post the pictures he took on his phone.

    Quite obvious what is missing:

Not a lot of room at all. More heat shielding has since been added..

    Hahahaha.

Karlos, as for the possibility of going big turbo on your driveway, don't bother.

Gutted it wasn't possible to get it back together over the weekend, more frustrating that it was down to things that were out of our control, like not being able to prefab the downpipe or tip until it was on the car and one of the hose connections not fitting.

Also got some 19mm hose on the go to run straight out the car, bypassing any form of catch can.

Was meaning to do it after the last turbo change but didnt get round to it. In the new year I'll get the rest of the A/C removed so my car becomes even more of a racing snake.

Couple more pics from the weekend. Since these pics the heat shielding has been added, the DV has been welded on to the TIP and some exhaust wrap has been added to the charge pipe.

The Green will go at some point, was going to do the whole TIP in Green, but it's quite a stealthy build so going to keep it that way.

Downpipe is a bit more of a mission then first thought, fella welding it has said it's going to be a bit of an effort to keep the 5 bolts on the flange accessible, but as it can be done, it will be.

At what point does the standard s2k filter become restrictive do you think?

Possibly already has done mate, I'm not too sure. I'll have a search around on some S2k forums and see if any of them have changed the filters as they have gone big turbo, if so I might look into other options. It's £12, OEM filtration and looks pretty good, so unless the replacement was going to give big gains, I'm not sure it's worth changing out.

Having a quick search reveals the usual talk i witnessed on the Civic forum. That the OEM filter is one of the best flowing even over most aftermarket items. In a table some magazine did a few years back the OEM Honda filter in an EP3 flowed third highest just under ITG and blitz. Obviously theres a limit to that when you start getting to high figures like you are but as you`ve said before...for £19 you cant argue for how its performed so far.

It's not the most aesthetically pleasing filter and that's the only reason I can see why you wouldn't go for it. Will be interesting to see how much of a difference it makes on the Dyno, although I really need to see if the broken Jetex we have for the Leon can be replaced (the neck has gone) as their is not a lot of point testing the filter vs without a filter as I need to run one on the car..

Car isn't ready. Not a big deal really.

Downspipe was more of a mission then anticipated as the flange was ****. 4 of the 5 holes lined up, one only 1/2 lined up. Also a bit of a mission getting to a couple of the bolts.
    Broke a coolant pipe.

Downspipe was eventually fitted and heat wrapped.
Coolant pipe has been bought, paid for and collected today.
TIP is sorted and ready to be fitted.
    Charge pipe is the same.

Started the car briefly with just the downpipe fitted, turbo spins and nothing blew up so that's a good sign.

Coolant pipe is fitted, tip's fitted, modified charge pipe is fitted. Holds coolant and runs like a champ.

I've started making the 3" system, then realised that its denim blue and is a 5 door so lost interest in working on it.

Had a few hours spare this evening so replaced the dented scorpion 2.75" pipework with 3" stainless. It's 3" untill just before the backbox where it reduces to 2.75", this is a tempory measure until he mans up and buys a decent back box.
Tig welded by my own fair hands, first attempt at a cat back system, pretty pleased with the outcome.

    Winner winner chicken dinner.

Slightly worried it's going to be incredibly loud though!

Nice job as usual mate, basically the whole exhaust has been done by you which is quite impressive. More bhp then my k04 ever officially made, but at only 13psi means that things are about to get very exciting. :yahoo:
