I realize this may open a can of worms in terms of opinion but I am trying to find out what I could do to upgrade my S3 brake setup to give a more confident pedal before my remap? I have read through a few posts and it seems I should avoid EBC alltogether, funny really because they would have been my first choice. I will put some goodridge braided hoses on anyway and maybe some dot 5 fluid, if you have any ideas on whats hot and whats not......please share.

Depends how hard you will drive the car mate. Ds2500 seem popular on here.as for disks, standards are fine

On the S3 Mintex or Feroodo DS2500 seems to be the popular choices

So changing the discs will not make any difference then,ok that means more cash for other things. Anyone using braided lines.....any good?

I had a set of EBC discs and greenstuff pads on another car and had no issues at all ,I thought they were very good, especially as they didn't make half as much dust as the OEM ones. So where is the best (I mean cheapest) place to get ferodo DS2500 from? They seem expensive on ebay, guess you get what you pay for! Is it worth doing the rears too?

    *Flame Suit on*

I have Ultimax EBC front and Rear Discs and purchased Red Stuff Pads to go with it all.... and I will be changing the front pads soon to DS2500s but I haven't had any issues when driving the S3 in anger over distance.

I think its the heat that affects the braking. Drive to 100 then hard brake 5 times in a row. Racing brake fluid has a higher boiling point so you won't get brake fade as quick. If you haven't had this before then you probably don't need ds2500
