    Hi Guys,

Not posted for a while, but "Hi" to all those who might remember me from the old days.

I still have my S3, 7 years old this week! Wow! But I have one or two problems with the bucket seats.

Drivers seat - there is quite a loud creaking sound coming from the seat base. Its as if the plastic structure of the seat is coming loose slightly from the metal frame.

Passenger seat - there sounds to be something loose within the seat. Like a nut or bolt, so whenever you go round a corner or brake etc. this thing rolls around. Very annoying. Of course there could be a stone within the rear footwell air vents - I don't know. But to get at these I'd also need to remove the seat.

Has anyone else experience similar issues?

Any advice on removing the seats or dismantling them?

    Cheers

Mine is coming up to 6 years and my Recaros aren't showing any signs of creaking or any other issues thankfully.

Silicone oil is a good idea yep.

Remove them from the car (takes 10 mins) take them indoors and investigate properly with some tools. Recaro seats are easily stripped down, bits tightened, greased ect and rebuilt. I'd completely stripped down some Astra VXR Recaro's to replace the seat foams it's not a hard job if you're handy with these sort of things.
