I have just bought a A4 B5 1.9 TDIQ 110 or a 98 R plate, completely a spur of the moment thing. It has allegedly covered 250k. The engine still sounds good though.

My question is relating to the main and big end bearings though.
What size should I replace them with? Standard or oversized?

I don't want to buy a re conned unit, I enjoy stripping and rebuilding them and then I know the engine is AOK. I have seen people buy "82k well looked after" engines bought before, only to blow up 2 weeks after fitting that and coupled with the fact the rebuild parts can most likely be had for less wonga...

Any help will be much appreciated :sm4:
