I've got a 02 plate a3 when I fitted an aftermarket stereo I lost the sound to my rear speakers. They still make a quiet buzz so I know there's power going to them. I know this is a common problem has anyone found a solution without rewiring them straight to the head unit?

Check to make sure that the power supply is properly connected to the wall and to the speakers and that there is power. Usually there will be an indicator light when the speakers are turned on.

lol make sure it's connected to the wall ;)

I'm guessing you have wired them incorrectly. Take out the head unit, get a 9v battery and then touch wires onto the positive and negative terminals, then it's trial and error until you can hear static coming from the rear speakers. Once you do you have the correct wires and you can attach them to your new head unit.

edit: to clarify you will only hear static from one speaker at a time when touching the wires with the battery, as each speaker obviously has it's own two wires.
