yesterday when I was putting my son into the car I fastened his seatbelt as usual and then pulled out the full length and released it.. again as usual. standard proceedure to get the sealtbelt to lock when putting a child in (if you're you're saying "eh?" to yourself just now you should read your child seat instructions as all that use the main belt that I'm aware of need this).
So anyway. this time I released it but it didn't reel in again. So now I have the seatbelt all loose and it won't retract in again.
I'll start dismantling it tomorrow to see what's what but I wante dto ask if anyone has had this before? I'm not sure if I can fix it or will need a new unit.
cheers

Thanks mate. I actually went out this morning and took the panel and top trim off, then the rubber cover that goes over the seatbelt and applied careful yet sharp lateral pressure.... I hit it with a hammer but not too hard :) and it reeled right in again. I'm not sure how long this technical fix will last of course.
