Rear number plate lights - 1 not working

Hi, my left hand number plate light doesn't work. Should i have a dash warning telling me this, as I haven't had one?
Also does anyone know part numbers so i can get a pair of new ones or a decent not to bright alternative?

pretty basic bulbs you can get anywhere, you will need something like this to get them out though

Our C6 chassis (or maybe more) has both lights connected together with tape connections.
It should tell you on the dash but after I've changed the oem bulb in mine to led without resistor, nothing turned up. It might be the same with your car, that this warning was missed out?
Open the non working light up and change the bulb. If no joy, check the connectors. Clean them and bend the metal plates from the bulb holder to make sure secure connection.
If this not helps, you'll need to take the whole number plate light assembly out and inspect the connections.
