Rear door not locking / unlocking etc

hi guys

My mates S3 has developed a fault , his rear drivers door will not lock and unlock and the window has stopped working as well , neither front or rear window switch will operate it , the under door puddle light and rear door red light have also stopped working , and ideas please ?

First call is to be checking the wiring from the car to that door. Be a rubber boot pull it back and check for broken wires

I have suggested that to him , he has just told me that when trying to lock and unlock he can hear it making noise from the door .
