    Hi All

I have an A3 Sportback (2011) in which I'm getting tired of getting trashed when transporting a muddy mountain bike inside the back.

Therefore I’m looking at purchasing a Saris Bones 2, Rear Cycle carrier (did look at roof mounted kit but well over the budget).

Audi A3 Sportback (04 on) :Saris Bones 2 bike carrier, grey, no. SAB2-GY.

Has anyone got any experience with this product? The reviews seem to be pretty good.

I’m wondering whether I’ll have enough number plate clearance once the bike is loaded without the need of a number plate board?

    Thanks, Paul

I don't have any experience with it on a A3, but my mate had one of these a few years back on a Fiesta and never had any problems.

Obviously the roof mounted ones are far more secure, and I'd advise a roof mounted rack if you travel long journeys with your bike.
