Audi tell me my rear axel bushes have deteriorated. I've bought a couple of new ones on ebay for £6 each which I thought was very good. Does anyone know how much I should expect to pay Audi / a private garage to replace the bad ones for new?

Also my centre box bracket has broken causing the box to wabble when I'm 60+ mph (it's like rolf harris is under my car with a wobble board!). Does anyone know if a garage could just replace the bracket or do I need a whole new box with bracket - also, how much should I expect to pay?

Thanks

...just read in the Haynes manual that with pre 2001 models you can simply replace the bushes. However, it says that if you rear bushes have deteriorated badly on post 2001 models, that you have to replace the entire rear axel! - has anyone else heard this, or has anyone else replaced bushes on post 2001 with no problem? The Haynes instructions seem strange as I can't see why Audi would have changed their bush/axel system post 2001?? - appreciate advice
