Another grubby interior to work on..

No exterior work, full interior leather treatment and carpet extraction. Promised to make a great turnaround!

    Process & Product

    1. De-clutter
    2. Clean all plastics/doors-cards/pedals and mats
    3. Hair/fluff removal
    4. Extract mats and carpets
    5. Clean and protect leather

    • AutoSmart G101
    • AutoGylm Interior Shampoo
    • Gliptone Liquid Leather & Conditioner
    • VAX 6131
    • Megs Multi-purpose brush

    Inspection..

The leather was full of dirt, carpets stained, black and greasy, grain in the doorcards were also full of grime and every visible ‘plastic’ was stained in one way or another. OK.. *gloves on*

I worked my way the doorcards - Passenger. Rear. Rear. Driver. Needless to say, the drivers’ was the worse.

G101 sprayed and agitated with the stiff bristled multi-purpose brush.

    Passenger door..

    Nice and clean..

    50/50 on same door:

As I went around the car, the Megs Pet Hair Removal brush took away fluff and build-up on the material around the doors

    More work on the doorcards:

    Drivers’ 50/50:

Some annoying scuffs were looked at near the bottom of the driver’s door

    [IMG] [IMG]

I tried a few things of these but they proved quite difficult to shift. The JML Magic Sponge couldn’t quite fully remove them.

Take a look at this fuel receipt that I found under the front seats..

    27th September 2003, 76.9p/L. :(

Controls on centre console were very grubby:

Some 10 minutes spent here with various brushes and tools.

Steering column raised and extended to clean behind:

    Fluff on door surrounds before:

    And after:

    [IMG] [IMG]

Plastics and dashboard complete. Looking better already. Time to look at the carpets and leather..

A few stains here and there, unsure if these would be fully lifted out

Started with a good thorough hoover then scrubbed the pedals with G101

Rear mats out and extracted through the VAX 6131

Rear carpets then had G101 worked in to.

    Producing some filthy water already:

    The front passenger then cleaned..

This left the VAX head pretty soiled! Flushed out and back to work.

It wasn’t long however until it was jammed up again.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Not all the stains were removed unfortunately. Still, much much better.

Leather was cleaned with a G101/Liquid Leather combo.

All put back together, Werkstat Prime applied to wooden areas upfront, a few quick final touches and a further hoover out and……. we’ve finished.

Pretty much bang on 5 hours later..

Very nice work - interior detailing is very satisfying I imagine. How does the G101 compare to Meg's APC as parts of my door cards etc are starting to look a bit grubby too.

Looks like a wooden floor in that shot! lol

    Thanks James.

I'm still trying to get hold of the RR as it requires some massive attention to the outside! *fingers crossed*

APC/G101 - it's a tough one. I find APC foams up a lot more, which, can be nice and feels as though it cleans well this way. However, I've only ever had good results with the G101. If anything, I like G101 as it's cheaper ;)

    Both do a great job.

Brilliant work! A proper work time too for an interior that size in that shape. As soon as you have your website finished, e-mail me the details, and I'll do my best to pass some people your way - we get enquiries from all over the UK, and it's always nice to have people to pass work on to who we know will do great work. Very impressed, keep them coming. ;)

Sorry Ras but the first of my PB accounts has exceeded the monthly bandwidth allowance (second isn't far behind..) I MUST sort this..

Erm - G101, well its an all around, all purpose cleaner. I use it on/for: door shuts. engine bay. wheels. tyres. arches. interior plastics. upholstery *sometimes*. bug removal. All sorts really!

The interior shampoo by AG, obviously a dedicated Interior product, but, really, I haven't got that much experience in using it yet! G101 always seems up to the job (saying that, I have now brought AS Brisk, which again, is a dedicated Interior jobbie..)

    Sorry for the confusion :p

I can highly recommend AG interior shampoo, it is deep cleaning and leaves a nice natural/matt finish on interior vinyl and plastics.

Give it until the 27th and they'll be back online..

From now on, all reports will be going on the WhiteDetails' server. Just, a pain when it comes to documenting, thats all!
