Radio problem

Good afternoon one and all,

I am having some reception / signal problems with my radio on my cabriolet A4, has anyone else had this problem, sounds like the aerial is disconnected, but the unit does work now and then. Can some please tell me where the aerial is mounted on the Cab A4 on a 04plate?

By the looks of things there are 2 aerials situated in the boot lid. See pic...

Excellent, I'll have a go at taking the panel off and see if their are any dodgy connections.

The Aerial cable is known to break on the cab, the lead normally breaks inside the rubber tubing which goes from the boot lid to inside the boot.

Sometimes the broken cable makes contact hence the intermittent nature of the fault.

Spot on, cable broken in the rubber tubing, cut and replaced now backup and runnig,
