Quick hello

Thought I'd just get my 1st post in to say hello to everyone.

I've ordered an S3 Black Edition for 1st March delivery - it's gonna be a hell of a 3 months wait I'll fill in the time by reading some of the great posts on here and hopefully be a decent contributor.

I'm no stanger to Audi's having previously owned an '06 A4 Sline special Edition followed by an '07 RS4 Avant - God I cried when that car went. but family committments etc......

Right, I'm off to finish this glass of wine and wait for the curry to turn up!!

I didn't know there was a Black Edition S3 until Wednesday. New for 2010 apparently. Same spec as all other Black edition models with the darth vader alloys, privacy glass, BOSE, and the black surrounds etc. I'd spec'd that lot anyway so about £800 saving all in which was a nice surprise. (black edition S3 is £500 extra but you can deduct cost of the additions).

Yeah, a 50k family car - about the price of my house extension.

I'm hearing a lot about retrofit RNS-E. Is it a genuine OEM item fitted by yourself or did you go you a specialist installer? I was never going to cough up £1600 (I had it in the RS4 but it was re-sale suicide if you didn't) but I may be tempted by a good quality retrofit.

Yes it does include the black optics. I checked on the website when I got home from the dealers but couldn't find any mention of the black edition anywhere. Dealer thought I'd probably be the 1st in the UK to order one. I know that the S3 already has no cost options of piano black inlays and leather etc, so that's probably why the price of the 'pack' is reduced from the s-line.
