    Hello from a new-user....

I have on order an A3 2.0 TDI DSG with all of the toys including DVD-SatNav+, Xenons, etc..

I am considering upgrades to the car to both the styling with an full Oettinger bodykit and the ECU with an Oettinger 177bhp upgrade. Also looking at 18" wheel upgrades.

What are peoples opinions re: the following questions:

    1) Is the Oettinger kit better than the standard kit from the A3 Accessories catalog?
Does anyone have any pictures of the standard kit from Audi?
    2) Has anyone had an engine upgrade with the DSG transmission, if so, how have you got on?
    3) What do people think of the New A3 S-Line wheels vs. the Rochford RS6 replicas?

Would be really grateful for any advice....

    Regards, Ian

dont get the rs6 replicas cos ive got them ! lol

also the std audi kit is well over priced and would recommend the Oettinger over it!

also the upgrade although only taking it to 177bhp it will raise the torque and because the DSG box cant handle alot of that might cause problems.. but you can get the company who does the chip to lower this figure to make is safe with the DSG..

    enjoy the new car..

but if you have only just ordered it.. you will be waiting a long time..

Yes stay away from the RS6 wheels! Especially the 19" from Toora! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I´ll like the std Audi kit! It looks like it fits much better! (have only sean the other ones on pics)

You are not going to get 177BHP from a 2.0TDI with DSG. The DSG is limited to 265lb/ft of torque, all the upgrades, Oettinger, MTM, Superchips, ABT produce approx 300 lb/ft. At present no-one is advertising an upgrade for the 2.0TDI that takes into account the DSG limitation. If and when one is available I would expect approx 160BHP.

Spoke to Oettinger today and they say they will certify the upgrade for DSG within the next week or so and have a prototype with 25K miles on it running fine?

Where is the information on the max torque for the DSG coming from, is it Audi?

It's no to the S-Line package as you can't have full leather interior, also the spec is as before but now includes BOSE as well as the DVD Sat Nav+

As far as I know never! I spoke to Audi Customer Services yesterday and the 2.0 TDI (140) Quattro has been delayed from mid-September and deliveries are now not expected until early 2005. The information contained in the Audi 2005 model year update can be ignored in terms of dates for the new A3 3 door engine derivatives.

    Great choice!...
for me the 2.0 TDI is just to 'rattly' and vibration comes into the cabin. The torque and power are awesome in the mid range and huge fun but I couldnt live with it on a journey.

I originally went for the FSI (for my wife) instead of the Tdi but then we decided to swap (for my A4) and I will trade in for the V6 after selling my Boxster.
