Cheers dave at least some one looks at my post.
I did get a price from my local vw dealer said about 30 pounds a disc and 70 pounds for front pads but he couldn't order them because on my quattro it's audi only even when he could see them.
Have also heard that standard ones are the best not to touch any others like ebc or mintex.:undwech:

£30 a disc sounds reasonable to be fair but £70 a set for pads ? jeezo ! perhaps gsf may be of some use if your able to change them yourself ? http://www.gsfcarparts.com/

Recently had my front pads changed at the last service. My mechanic has fitted Ferodo pads. I will see if I can find the receipt to see what they cost. Can't help with the discs though.

I do know the whole service was less than what you've been quoted for pads though.

I bought a complete set of rear discs and pads through a local motor factor - whole lot cost about £70 inc VAT. I don't recall there being a problem sourcing the right ones.

I wanted to replace my rear discs and pads last summer. Had a really wierd question as to what size disks apparently there are two sizes and the difference is the centre diameter.

I just changed the pads in the end. Ferodos where £15 or so and took no time to fit with a caliper winding tool.

I will change the disks next time

I did the front disks and pads cost about £60 or so for parts all in.

It's worth paying for quality on brakes especiall on the front, cheap discs will warp and A6's are heavy on the fronts.

I use Bosch/TRW very very good and affordable

£130 for S4 front discs and pads

£90 for A6 1.9tdi front discs and pads and £45 for rear discs and pads

Where can we get hold of these bosch pads then? I have the 2.7T and the pads alone are £130ish from stealers:wtf:

Hi my 2000 S6 rear vented disks and pads cost £106 from the dealers and the front disks were £55 each from euro car parts and pads £100 from the dealers. The euro car part disks were ate and have been on 2 years now with no problems.
