I'm trying to find the best grip/fuel consumption tyres to put on my 2015 Q3 S automatic. I stay in an area known for snow and ice so need it to stick to the road like my old Subaru did!
I am aware of the rating system but each tyre rates at a different reading for every ratings test I view so I'm thoroughly confused.
255/40/R19 100Y on at the moment- Pirelli.
Also.....if I replace only the front tyres, which need done now, and leave on the 100Y at the back- any issues?
Thanks for any help :)

Personally I am not a fan of Pirelli - I found they were a good summer tyre but that they wore out WAY quicker than offerings from either Dunlop or Continental.

In terms of what you need, have a look at:

https://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/4x4

and search by your reg and see what comes up.

You shouldnt have too much of an issue having newer Pirellis on the front than on the rear, but id probably go with the same all the way around to avoid any grip issues...

The simplest thing for you may actually be to get a dedicated set of Winter wheels from somewhere like ebay.... Best of both worlds.
