Sorry to say ScoTTy, but it is possible... as someone I know has just fitted the brushed look mirrors to his S3, although I'm led to believe that they are not a straight forward swap as you may think.

Grant, NEW S4, NEW A3.....

The old (B5) S4, RS4 mirrors will fit easily onto the facelift A3 without modification...
