I don't think it does include the rivets. The part numbers for the rivets (you need 6 of them to fit the 2 B pillar cover trims) is AN 016 185 7. I have asked Dave to get me a set of these also. Thanks for the heads up as I didn't know about them until you mentioned them. :)

I bought myself a rivet gun from Ebay Wez, and it actually came with a load of exactly the same rivets used to secure the B-pillar covers, so no real need to buy the rivets from Audi. Rivet gun was only a fiver including postage and it seems good quality. I'm going to drill the existing rivets out using my Dremel. Here's a link to the rivet gun I bought. :)

Thanks to Dave for getting these for me, they arrived this morning and look amazing! :)

No probs, matey. It's pouring with rain up here at the moment or I'd be out there giving it a go already, lol. I'll see if I can get some 'on the job' pics for you when I get the chance to fit them. :)

Hi Wez, I went to give this a go today, but on looking at things, the seal door seal is too close to the rivets for comfort, for me to feel confident enough to drill them out, without fear of damaging the seals. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get someone to do the job for me, ..darn it! Sorry, dude. :(

I finally got them fitted today! Wez had sent me a message saying he had done his and how easy it had been, so I thought I'd give it a go and although I don't have any pics as yet (will take some after I wash the car next) I have to say that they look really cool. :)

The most fiddly part was holding the rubber door seal out of the way, while I drilled out the rivets. To do that I stuck an old bank card down between the B pllar cover and the door seal and bent it towards the inside of the car. There are three pop rivets on each side. I stuck some masking tape around the rivet heads, just incase the drill slipped, but luckily it didn't. I used a 2.5mm drill bit to start drilling out the 'meat' of the rivets and after managing to drill through the head, I then swapped over to a 3mm bit. When the head of the rivet pops off onto your drill, then that's it well and truly drilled out. After removing all 3, it's just a case of sliding the old cover off, towards the front of the car.

To fit the new covers I used this pop rivet gun, which I bought off Ebay (only costs a few quid). It comes with a few different sizes of rivets, including the ones you need for the covers.

Pop Rivet Gun With 4 Nozzles & 60 Blind Rivets on eBay (end time 17-Jun-11 13:41:23 BST)

Slide the new cover on to the car, you'll find it sits in place without having to hold it. Just make sure you don't pinch any of the rubber door seal or trim. It will line up with the existing rivet holes. Take the stubby end of the pop rivet and pop it through one of the holes. Slide the rivet gun onto the longer shaft of the rivet, pull the handle tight, release and pull once again until the gun goes 'pop' (which snaps the shaft of the rivet off) and that's the job done. Repeat for all the other rivets and you've got some nice new shiny B pillar covers.

After I had done one side, I compared how it looked to the other. Looks so much better gloss black.

At certain angles it blends into the tinted back side windows.

The idea to use something to hold the rubber back came from mattandrew.

Looking forward to seeing urs Paulie, against the yellow.

Cheers Wez, yeah you're right the glossy black looks way better than the standard ones. As you say, especially against the privacy glass on the rear windows. Will hopefully get her washed tomoz and post some pics. Thanks again for getting my ass into gear to get them fitted, lol. :)
