if you've got a DPF then DPF delete is meant to give you 25bhp - don't hold me to that, i read that in passing and i don't own a derv so i don't have a clue about tuning it!

Yeah diagnostics all run before, he won't map them unless there running ok, dyno before & after etc Mark's a top bloke. I had the boost hoses and diverter valve changed for Forge models while I was there and added a k&n panel filter. The car had good service including plugs all done just before aswell, that way I could be sure it was running optimum before the map. Mark has also done some retrofits for me since, does vagcom stuff to :)

Hybrid turbo, Performance Backbox, and Custom Map to take advantage of Hybrid. Delete the EGR, even if you just get it mapped out (if you can't afford EGR delete pipe) and then disconnect it, clean it out as well tho as it get full of ****.

But am sure devonmikeyboy will give you a very big list todo....

So do induction kits do anything on these cars? They are pretty much shunned in the world of Honda and BMW as people who fitted them found performance was actually worse due to heat soak. Is this not the case with the Audi 2.0tdi?

400-500 bhp is possible. I don`t know of any 2.0 l diesel engine that makes 1000 bhp .

well, it'll get you TBE, CAI and remap. on my 2.0T that would give me around 50-60bhp or so which is not insignificant.

For a grand go for map, full exhaust, egr delete and induction kit. Then when you got some more monies your good for hybrid turbo, intercooler, clutch kit and a new remap. After this injector nozzles, conrods and water/methanol depending on egts and then again a new map. All this will cost you around 5grand and will get you 280-290hp. To get more than this you will need a totally different turbo, manifolds and ported head. So at the moment im half way there lol

it's not that easy surely. you'd need to spend money on brakes and suspension as well if you were going all out so more than £5k :p

Ye i didnt mention handling upgrades. You will defo need bigger brakes, s3 345mm are perfect. But if you just want to go fast in a straight line no need to go all out on handling :p

cheers guys for the help, sounds like some serious saving needs done! nav you said about a full exhaust is there any real point in a derv? oh as for the modding a tractor surely we save more money as we dont have to stop every garage to fill up so we save more money for the next mod:whistle2::think:

Depending on how far you want to go with the modding. Best get a cat-back exhaust for now and if you go far as a hybrid turbo then you can get a downpipe+decat pipe.

My advice would be leave it well alone mate, you'll only run into money if something goes wrong! Re-maps have a awful habit of bringing out under lying problems with turbo's, flywheels etc

Egr - exhaust gas recirc. So deleting this stops hot exhaust gases full off soot from entering the manifold and engine. Its there to reduced NO exhaust gasses. when you remove your egr valve and manifold you will see it caked in soot. When i did mine it was atleast half a cm thick! So the theory is deleting this gives better mpg and help engine run better (some say gives you more power). Its a good mod to do :)
