Hi,

I'm running a 1998 1.9 TDI Quattro. The power steering pump really grumbles on full lock and I need to get it sorted before selling. As per the manual, do I have to buy a new one or can they be reconditioned?

If recon is an option does anybody have a reliable source?

All help much appreciated.

Who are you selling the car too and how much does it grumble??? If your trading it in I wouldnt bother my **** fixing it.

Is it fully topped up with fluid as that can cause grumbling and whining of the pump.

Brand new ones, you will need to give your old one back to by-pass the surcharge, so they can make recon ones. +VAT on these prices. Begining number is our part numbers. Hope this helps!

619440480 - Up to Chassis 8D-W-163240 - £98.27

619440650 - From Chas 8D-W-163241 - £75.03

Thanks for the responses - much appreciated!

We'll probably sell the car privately, so I want it to be right. I'll do the fluid level first, and that failing get a replacement from europarts.

Thanks again,

Beef:)
